Actually, yes, Dan would become a supervisor, because he has at least $1,000 unallocated volume, shown by the red arrows. Unallocated volume is volume that is not being used by someone else to become a supervisor, which in Dan's case, his friends that spent $500 each are not using this volume to become supervisors. Dan also has a total of more than $4,000 in volume (because volume rolls up, remember, and Rob's volume counts for Dan because Rob is not a supervisor until the 1st of the month following his qualifying month.) So this qualifies Dan to become supervisor.
